CoC leaders want resources that belong to the field and stay available over time: practical tools, shared information, and materials CoCs can maintain together.
We’ve gotten accustomed to having good resources on HUD Exchange and saw how easily that was washed. Having ownership over our own data and resources, the power behind that is huge.
The library is being built with members. The first-year work plan — including which shared resources come first — gets set by the membership, with first-year priorities decided at the national convening on December 8 in San Diego, California.
Keeping knowledge in the field
When experienced people leave, CoCs can lose history and practical knowledge with them. Part of the library's purpose is preserving what the field has learned and making it easier for the next person to pick up the work.
